What should I do if I have an issue accessing my building?

If you are experiencing difficulties accessing your building, an app malfunction, or other unforeseen situations related to the Oskey system, this article will guide you through the initial checks and solutions.

Access Issues or App Malfunction

If you are unable to access your building or if the app appears to be experiencing an issue, here are the steps to follow:

Initial Checks:

  • Check that your Oskey app is up to date. An outdated version can sometimes cause problems.

  • Check that the building you are trying to access appears correctly, either in the Menu tab of the app or via an active invitation in the Invitation tab.

  • Bluetooth access: Make sure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled and that you have authorized the Oskey app to use it in your phone's settings.

💡 If you're using an Android device, make sure the Location feature is also enabled. This feature is used by Android devices to detect nearby Bluetooth devices.
  • PIN code access: Check the validity and accuracy of the PIN code you are using. To view it in the app: go to the Home tab, tap the settings button (located in the top right corner), then Building Information > My PIN code.

Quick Solutions:

  • Try completely quitting the Oskey app (not just putting it in the background) and then restarting it.

  • Restart your phone. This simple action can resolve many minor software bugs.

If, after performing these checks and manipulations, the problem persists and the Intercom+, the Oskey keypad or the Oskey app still do not seem to be working, we invite you to contact our support.

Special Situations

  • In the event of a power outage: Access to your building during a power outage depends primarily on the type of electric strike installed on your door, and not directly on the Oskey system. To guarantee access under all circumstances, Oskey recommends installing "fail-safe" strikes (which unlock in the event of a power outage).

  • In case of squatting in your home: If you notice that your home is being squatted, the appropriate course of action is to immediately go to a police station to file a complaint. Bring all documents proving that the home belongs to you. It is important to note that Oskey cannot intervene or take a position in such situations without a decision from the prefect or the relevant authorities.
